Members of NEAWI are presenting a conference session, "Architectural woodwork elements: Desks and custom casework", on Friday, November 18th, from 8:30am to 10:00am. From the conference brochure, this session provides:
- "An overview of the updated version of the Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS), including the submittal process, wood and plastic laminate casework, custom fabricated desks and specialty casework. Consideration for material selection and coordination issues with solid surfaces, glass, metals, and specialty finishes will be discussed. Attendees will be able to tell the difference between custom and premium grade and how to incorporate the AWS in the design specification so that it guarantees verifiable compliance criteria for material, workmanship, finishing and installation. Attendees will receive a complimentary copy (CD) of the Architectural Woodwork Standards."
