Fairfield County Millwork After the Storm

After months of rebuilding post the winter of 2010, Fairfield County Millwork is back in full swing. Please join the NEAWI Chapter in welcoming John Ianiri and Fairfield County Millwork staff back into their newly rebuilt shop.

The "LEED with the Best" seminar will follow the Fairfield County Millwork PLANT Tour, which will be presented by Bruce Chapin of Atlantic Plywood, Briana Capra of the Rainforest Alliance, and Rob Ziegelmeier of National AWI.

LEED with the Best

  • The FSC segment of the program will address the importance of sustainable forestry, what is chain of custody, and why it is important.
  • The program will also answer questions regarding the steps needed for a shop to become Chain of Custody (CoC) certified.
  • The LEED program will focus on how to successfully comply with the LEED project requirements, what to look for when bidding a project, as well as how to successfully complete the submittal process.
  • We will also address possible changes to the LEED program that may effect the woodworking community.

Bruce has provided assistance to hundreds of companies bidding and providing submittals for LEED projects, as well as in saving time and helping to reduce costs.


Ms. Briana Capra
Chain of Custody Associate
Rainforest Alliance, SmartWood Program, US Region

Briana received ISO 9001:2008 certification in October 2010 and USGBC LEED Green Associate certification in March 2011. She currently works with the Chain of Custody Central Region as a CoC Associate from SmartWoods Minnesota office, helping her clients navigate through FSC certification.

The FSC segment of the program will address, the importance of sustainable forestry, what is chain of custody and why its important.

Mr. Rob Ziegelmeier

Chairperson of the AWI Sustainability Resources Committee, and serves on the AWI Education Committee. Rob is an AWI LEED Team Presenter, as well as a member of the AWI Speakers Bureau.

In recent years, Rob has established Forest Stewardship Council Certification for two companies. He conducts numerous AIA-accredited presentations for Architectural and Design firms on the impact of LEED on the woodworking industry and is a consulting resource to AWI members about LEED projects.
